How many contests are on DirtDraft each week?

Dirt Draft will create contests for all the major series and events during the course of a week or day. There are multiple factors that go into the game schedule. However, on average (and weather permitting) you can expect to have an average of 10 contests per week to participate in across all divisions. Depending on the time of year some weeks there might be more, some weeks less. The only weeks that normally do not have contests is the week or weeks surrounding of Christmas.

When does the draft lock for each contest?

Each event has a countdown clock associated that will give you an approxamte time that you need to have your team selected by. The Dirt Draft team adjusts the lock time starting 30-minutes of the original lock time up until the start of the first heat race. The contest will be just before that divisions first heat race takes the track.

What are the status icons beside each drivers name?

Great question! Dirt Draft needs a way to let the user know whether or not a drive is going to be at the event or not. So we created a traffic light system. • Green Light Status: Driver is 99.9% going to be at the event. • Yellow Light Status: Dirt Drafts “Insiders” believe this driver will be at the event but not certain. • Red Light Status: Driver was originally a Green or Yellow light but the Dirt Draft “Insiders” have found that the driver will not be at the event now.

This status of a driver is updated throughout the driver registration process at the event. The roster is normally finalized and official 30-60 minutes prior to the start of hot laps.

How are drivers salaries calculated?

We have a super secret and ridiculously complex algorithm that took 7 math professors to develop. In short though a drivers salary is directly related to their event result(s) and event expectations. Each drivers salary is re-calculated daily and updated prior to the opening of the events draft.

What happens is a drivers isn't listed in the initial roster but will be or is at the event?

While we shoot to be as precise as possible on the initial roster, we all know that many factors come into play on whether a driver will or will not attend and event last minute. The driver roster will be updated throughout the registration process on the day of the event. You can expect to see updates to the roster usually an hour before the start of the event and the finalization of the official roster usually within 30 minutes of the start of the event.

DirtDraft uses a Green, Yellow, Red status for each driver to give the user a general expectation of their participation prior to the finalization of the roster. It's always best to check back after the contest has finalized to ensure your drafted team is participating. Once a contest locks you will not be able to edit your team.

Can I adjust my team after I have drafted and submitted my team?

Yes, at any point prior to the game lock time (before the first heat race) you can edit your team. To do that click the event, choose the contest you want to edit and then you’ll see a green Edit Team button. Once a contest locks before the first heat race you will not have the ability to edit your team.

Do all of the contests have LIVE scoring?

The intent is Yes that all events are scored LIVE. However, there are times that a 3rd party timing and scoring feed could become inactive and would disrupt service. While rare those instances due occur. In those cases Dirt Draft will manually score and validate the event post race.

How are drivers scored?

Each drivers is awarded a score based on only their a-main finish. 1st – 100, 2nd – 98, 3rd – 96 , etc .. If a driver did not make the a-main they are awarded a 31st place (DNS) finish and a score of 40. If a driver was on the draftable roster but did not compete in the event they are awarded a 31st place finish (DNS) and a score of 40

Are games official once the race is finished?

No, after the event Dirt Draft will validate the event results before marking the event results official and marking as Validated. At that point all scores and points become final. The validation period will normally happen within 12-hours of the completion of a contest.

What happens if a driver is disqualified after the contest is validated?

After an event is validated, the event results will not be changed.

What happens when an event is rained out or canceled?

In the event an event is canceled due to weather we will mark the game as rained out and the game will be terminated. If a game is rescheduled within the same weekend we will simply leave the game active and it will start on the rescheduled date when the a-main starts. If a game is rescheduled to a different weekend, the game will be terminated and users will need to re-draft. Users receive a full re-fund of their points if used to enter a canceled contest.

Does DIrtDraft offer a cash payout game?

No, Dirt Draft is for entertainment only. However, the Dirt Draft team is always actively working on the complexities of the legalities, licensing and compliance required on both the state and federal levels for cash payouts in the future. No timeline is available for that.
